Chevrolet Corsica Engine Performance
The Chevrolet Corsica vehicles appeared in a standard 4cyl engine and the optional
V6 engine. The 4 Cylinder engine is a 2.2L base that made 95 horsepower. Later,
this engine got a boosted output of 110 in 1992, then 120 in '94. It has an Isuzu-built
5-speed manual gearbox.
On the other hand, V6 engine gained horsepower that made its 135 into 140. The
V6 then got an additional 20 hp in '94 that made its power into 160 and later
loose 5. This V6 engine had a Muncie-Getrag stick. With these engines and its
specifications, buyers usually have problems dealing with the four-cylinder engine.
There were reviews stating that the 4cyl engines are noisy and anemic though
it got an increased power in 1992 and in '94. With the added power it has, the
4cyl still barely delivered an adequate acceleration. The V6 for them makes a
wiser choice for an engine. Though it made fuel economy suffer a bit, it brought
much better performance.
